Peace Within: My 2025 Phrase of the Year

For 2025, I’m embracing a phrase of the year: “Peace Within.”

“Peace Within” is more than just a guiding phrase; it’s a leadership principle. Leading with clarity and purpose begins by cultivating inner peace. In the face of competing priorities and unexpected challenges, peace within creates the space for thoughtful decision-making, balanced action, and meaningful relationships.

This phrase is inspired by one of my PhD professors, Dr. Mark Green, whose kind reminder, “Peace Be With You,” often stayed with me long after our conversations. His words encouraged me to create peace for others and, just as importantly, to sustain peace for myself.

The tools from my Leadership Toolbox—such as fast brain/slow brain thinking and emotional intelligence—align closely with my 2025 focus. They equip me to navigate challenges with intention, build trust within teams, and transform not only how I think but also how I live and lead. This phrase reminds me to continue growing in ways that reflect balance, purpose, and authenticity.

As I step into 2025, “Peace Within” serves as both a mindset and a mission—a way to sustain and transform my leadership, my relationships, and my impact. My hope is that by embodying this phrase, I can inspire others to pause, reflect, and build strong foundations for their own leadership journeys.
